Becoming a Woman Dressed for the Wedding. Revelation 19:7-8

When the world is coming apart all around us, beautiful can seem insignificant. But nothing can be further from the truth.

No matter your size, your age, your relationship status, how you look, or where you find yourself in life, God fashioned your life for the purpose of making it beautiful.

The Bible tells us that our lives are gradually becoming more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like Him.

From Genesis to Revelation, our becoming is likened to what we are wearing. And gradually, in our becoming journey, wearing what the world offers doesn’t fit us anymore.

That’s because our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, has designed for his bride what to wear when he returns as described in Revelation 19:7-8:

For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)

We don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. But, somewhere between not including God in our becoming and being distracted by what the world offers, the importance of “made herself ready” is lost.

The longing for beautiful is in our hearts. Some days we pursue beautiful and other days in our unbecoming places, beautiful finds us.

The wedding is closer than ever. There is more beautiful waiting for us no matter our age or what we have accomplished.

We all have some alterations to be “made” to let the beautiful fabric of our lives make an impact on our families, our friends, our communities, and the world for God’s glory as he adorns us for the grandest wedding event that will ever occur.
